The last day of voting for the Ideas for Change in America competition is TODAY, Thursday January 15th! On Friday we will present the top 10 ideas to the Obama administration at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. We'll then connect the winning ideas to leading nonprofits and launch a series of national advocacy campaigns to turn each idea into federal policy.
I've voted for the following ideas:
- Appoint Secretary of Peace in Department of Peace and Non-Violence (2nd Place)
- Free Single Payer Health Care (3rd Place)
- Make the grid green in 10 years (5th Place)
- Pass the DREAM Act - Support Higher Education for All Students (7th Place)
- Get FISA Right, repeal the PATRIOT Act, and restore our civil liberties (9th Place)
- Develop & Implement a National Strategy for Sustainability (10th Place)
- Bridging the Empathy Gap - Yes We Can! (12th Place)
- Solve The Credit Crisis From The Bottom Up Through Social Lending (15th Place)
- Restore Investments In Rail Service And Infrastructure (29th Place)
Warmly,
Jim

Hi Jim,
I also voted for Bridging the Empathy Gap, and helped spread the word about it.
I like how voting for ideas links ordinary people to government, with the help of already existing non-profit organizations. I'm curious about what this will lead to, if it will be the start of something.
It feels strange to take part in the blogosphere. I'm not sure I totally like it, but I've decided to try it a bit. Your blog seemed like a nice place to start. :-)
Congrats on a most beautiful blog,
Blessings of peace,
Maithri
